Hello everyone, today Teacher Dung will read a reading exercise titled “The Heron and the Shovel.” Now let’s listen to the content of this reading exercise. The heron was wading through the rice field catching insects, and the shovel noticed this. Emerging from the grass, the shovel asked, “Sister, catching insects seems quite challenging. Aren’t you afraid of mud splashing onto your pristine white feathers?” The heron cheerfully replied, “Why worry about getting dirty when we’re working?”. The shovel responded, “I live among the roots of trees, looking up at the blue sky. You all, with your immaculate white plumage and wings fluttering like dancers, don’t realize that sometimes we also face hardships like this.”
The heron replied, “Sometimes we must wade through mud to eventually soar high in the sky. As for the dirty coat, it’s simple—after finding food, it can wash itself clean. Its feathers become pristine again, and it takes flight, wings fluttering like a dance.”
So, after listening to this reading exercise, we understand that hard work and perseverance lead to opportunities for ease and achievement. Each of us should diligently study and strive, ensuring that in the future, we’ll encounter even more opportunities.
